Research in Virtual reality is now increasing due to low cost in prices of devices and innovations in technology especially due to smartphones virtual reality now become emerging research areas in the research community. Mobile computing has transformed virtual reality into augmented reality.

Virtual
Reality and Artificial Intelligence
Artificial
intelligence has been integrated with every field of study from health to
retail and also virtual reality researchers can not ignore the power of AI. Computer
vision is an area of AI which helps computers of “seeing” is transforming VR
and it enhances VR applications and can be used to put intelligence in Virtual
reality. Computer vision techniques can be used with VR applications to make an
Intelligent VR system. Object Detection, blob detection, feature detection are
some of the techniques which can be implemented with VR to make AI based VR
systems.

Virtual
Reality and Augmented reality
Augmented
reality is extension of Virtual reality. Augmented reality is combination of the
virtual world and the real world. Both technologies are using in education such
as students can interact with virtual environment for practice and training
such as flight, surgery, Physiotherapy and[16]. M-learning has been used by
different peoples from students to researchers. Preschool and elementary school
education also using VR & AR for effective learning of different subjects
such as English, science and mathematics.

Reality
It
is the mixing of the virtual and real world or real world with the virtual
world. It is also called Mixed Reality. It is used to use real objects in the virtual
world or virtual world to the real world. Intel Project Alloy is an example of
Merge reality Technology; Hololens is merged technology of Microsoft.

VR
for Therapies
VR
has been used by different therapists. Virtual Reality Exposure Therapy (VRET)
is a therapy for treatment for fear and anxiety. A physical therapist can use a
virtual environment to practice their patients with different disabilities such
as stroke patients, fractured patients.

and Education
Virtual reality has been actively used in education. Computer graphics, animated pictures, multimedia already has been using in education. Virtual reality provides more interest and enjoyment to students during learning. Virtual reality education has proven itself successful in terms of learning[].VR has been used for different subjects such English, chemistry, mathematics, Biology, Geography, History, Archeology, computers, Programming, Military Education.

Virtual
reality is incomplete without entertainment. VR is largely used for
entertainment.

simulators have been developed for bicycles, motorcycles, cars and airplanes,
VR parks, VR historical palaces, Virtual tours, VR public speaking, video games
and many more applications that exist for entertainment. Virtual Speech, Jaunt
VR, NYT VR, Orbulus, Discovery VR, Google Arts and Culture, Inside Abbey Road,
InCell VR, Minos Starfighter, Romans from Mars 360, Scotland VR Some examples
of VR apps for entertainment.
