How to prepare for CSS exams
Most people perceive Central Superior Services(CSS) exams a cumbersome process in which 16 to 18 hours’ study is required. They might be true if they have short time or meagre academic potential. Hence, this proposition does not apply to everybody. Mental capability and seriousness are the traits which determine the intensity of one’s journey’s struggle. Yet there are candidates who do not know the right path for preparation though they are replete with the facilities required for marking a milestone. So, what is the problem if all facilities along with conducive environment are available but one is not even able to appear in exams not to speak qualifying it. Let unearth the ways which mount one on the path of CSS.
First of all, a CSS aspirant must
attempt to improve the English. The most important part of this language for
CSS is “writing skills”. Writing skill comes by first of all putting one’s own
ideas on page. This trait of language can be assisted by reading, speaking and
talking. While improving the writing skill one can prepare for essay,
composition and other compulsory and optional subjects as one attempts to write
the topics relevant to them.
Secondly, the subject of everyday science and general
ability, which is categorized as compulsory subject, must be studied earlier as
it takes the most of time to cover if one has weak knowledge of intermediate
science. If one looks at the syllabus of the said subject one realizes how deep
study is required and the amount of time it will consume if started from
scratch. The syllabus of everyday science and general ability contains the
topics of Biology, Chemistry, Physiology, Physics, Astronomy, Geography,
Geology, Trigonometry, Matrices, Geometry, Algebra, Analogy and reasoning and
much more. So, in limited time, it seems difficult to cover along with other
disciplines.
These two points are worth skeleton in the preparation of
CSS. If one has sufficient knowledge of these two subjects one can have the
confidence of appearing in CSS exams and an expectation to qualify it.
